The Dog Pros was established in Mooresville, NC by expert K9 trainer, Ian Forbus. Together with his team of trainers and caring staff, they have become a beacon of hope to families who are looking for a solution to their dog training needs. They establish a customized plan for your dog and their team is with you every step of the way, from training your dog to training you! By creating a fun and engaging environment at the facility, they can help you develop a healthy relationship with your dog and find success through the training program!

Ian is a passionate business owner and trainer with over 25 years of experience. His dedication to helping dogs and their owners is unmatched. His focus is on owning a business that provides personalized training that caters to each dog’s unique needs and personality. He is recommended by Veterinarians and other dog professionals for his innate ability to understand dogs and their behaviors. Ian has an incredible way of being able to explain dog psychology, history, and genetics to owners which helps them understand the reasons for their dog’s behaviors. He knows how to apply necessary training techniques to help each dog live to it’s best potential. Clients often walk out of lessons with him amazed at how much they have learned.

Mike moved from the Gulf Coast to NC, in pursuit of building his skills as a dog trainer. His goal as a trainer, is to enhance the bond between dogs and their owners. He is committed to improving the quality of life for every dog he encounters. His favorite part of being a dog trainer is being able to give each dog his undivided attention and witnessing the transformation that comes from focused training. When he is not at the facility, he enjoys spending time training his own dogs and being in the great outdoors as much as possible.

Colt specializes in the sport of Schutzhund (IPO) as a nationally recognized trial helper as well as competing at high level obedience and protection competitions with his own dog, Ghost. Colt claims he doesn’t have any ‘free time’ but if he did, he would probably still be doing something dog related. Even with his busy schedule, he finds time to come over to The Dog Pros on occasion.

Prior to joining The Dog Pros family, Angel worked in the early childhood education field at a nature school. Her experience in communicating with ‘human’ parents helps translate over to her communication with ‘dog’ parents. She is very detail oriented and very efficient at any task that comes her way. She is usually the face behind the desk and the voice you hear on the phone. She has a passion for capturing photos and being creative. Angel enjoys spending time in nature with her family and their dogs.

Gracie is passionate about working with dogs and is an asset to our team. She helps to ensure the safety and well-being of the dogs in our training programs. She has excellent communication skills with everyone she encounters. In her free time she enjoys hanging out with her dogs, going to the lake and spending time with her family.

Lili is responsible for the daily care of the dogs in our programs. She not only takes care of their basic needs (watering, feeding, cleaning their kennels) but she also gets to have fun with them! She loves interacting with the wide variety of dogs in our programs. In her free time she enjoys activities with her family and friends such as bowling, basketball, and swimming.
