CC

"This is CC. She started training with Ian when she was about 6 months old. She was not our first St. Bernard, but she certainly was the most stubborn. We knew that we needed help. Being new to Mooresville, we were not familiar with dog trainers in the area. Riding down Brawley School Road one day, we saw the sign for The Dog Pros and decided to stop in and get some information. It was definitely the right decision. With Ian’s help, CC was one of the best dogs we have ever had.

She enjoyed attending group classes. She attended so many that we thought she was going for her PhD! She was a joy to take to for a walk. The best thing she learned was to come when called. She was able to explore in the woods, and we never worried about her chasing the deer. We were very proud of her when she passed her CGC test.

We are forever thankful to Ian and The Dog Pros for giving us such a well behaved pup!"

"Your training changed our lives! We adopted Julio when he was a year and a half and he was a high energy dog that loved people and animals, but was leash reactive. He would pull and bark and made it feel impossible to walk. He also jumped on people for attention and would run off if the door was left open. When we moved to NC from a house to an apartment, we knew we needed help. He stayed with you for three weeks and you gave us the loving and kind dog we knew we had all along. You gave us a dog that could go for walks, be off leash safely, and could look to his owners for confidence and security. It changed everything about how our family could function with him and it allowed him to go places with us, which he loves. MISHKA

"We reached out to The Dog Pros after a recommendation from a fellow dog mom. We were struggling with overall obedience, as well as jumping, pulling on leash and housebreaking issues. Our girl started with the day training program twice a week, right before her first birthday. It made a world of difference. The Dog Pros helped us realize that Mishka is naturally an obedient dog, but as a first-time dog owner there was a lot for ME to learn. The one-on-one sessions with her trainers were so helpful in teaching me to communicate with Mishka effectively, and also made me feel more confident handling her.

Angel is absolutely wonderful to work with, and Ian is especially adept at explaining things in a way that makes sense to even the newest dog owners. We recommend them to all of our friends!"

Tuppence

"I purchased a Labrador puppy to train as my psychiatric service dog. As she grew it was very obvious she wasn’t capable of being trained for that. In fact she wasn’t even suitable to be a family pet. My personal trainer (whom I’ve used for years) and I worked for months but with no progress. Even walks around the neighborhood were becoming impossible; I decided to return her to her breeder and try another puppy.

Then, a friend told me about The Dog Pros. Tuppence came to them unmanageable and within 6 months she totally changed. The trainers worked specifically with her personality and figured out just what Tup needed to perform as my service dog. Today, Tuppence goes with me everywhere with ease. The little girl I was surrendering to the breeder is perfect for her role a year later.

The trainers and other staff are knowledgeable and friendly. They guarantee the goals you decide on and live up to that pledge. They not only train your dog, they train you as well. They are always available to help, even after the course completion.

Lily, Lana and Deuce

"Lily, the young lady on the left in the the first photo was trained by Ian. She was a fairly timid pup, but having originally moved to a densely populated neighborhood with an untrained Chocolate Lab, we knew any future canine family members would need better manners! Lily not only mastered her training, but continues to be a role model for her MUCH younger siblings (Lana, pictured with her, and Deuce) who trained together in doggy bootcamp! Aside from the knowledge, skill and experience of the trainers (Ian will forever be a fave!), I have most appreciated understanding that, in reality, our training was much more important than theirs; they are only as good as we are. Have and will continue to highly recommend The Dog Pros."

Ellie

"My husband and I had just lost Jack and Queenie, our Jack Russell/Beagle mix “kids” who we had shared the last 16 years with. To honor them, we started looking for a dog who needed a home - and we found Ellie! At 5 years old, Ellie had learned some bad habits that we just could not break. Leash walking was impossible. She jumped on everyone and everything. She rarely responded to any command. We needed professional help! We reached out to The Dog Pros and now Ellie is a completely different dog! Ian trained Ellie to listen and follow commands, and what followed was a calm and relaxed good girl. It was amazing how quickly Ellie learned her lessons. And Ian’s approach of training Ellie during the day and then training us before we picked her up each day was so helpful. We knew what to expect from Ellie and how to reinforce what she had learned that day. We are so happy that our vet suggested The Dog Pros! Baci

"Thanks and gratitude to everyone at The Dog Pros! Prior to training, we were exhausted, frustrated, and continually worried about our dog’s behavior. Although lovable and smart, her dominant Great Pyrenees breed was breaking us down. However, after participating in a five week training program, our 3 yr old rescue girl, Baci, is now an AMAZING dog! Using positive and consistent practices, the wonderful staff literally transformed Baci’s strong leader mentality and situational aggression to an obedient one. We aIso appreciated the communication from staff throughout training and they continue to be available anytime. Gone are the days of barking at dogs and people walking by our house, attacking windows, scaring off visitors, sleepless nights, and demanding attention. Walking is now so pleasurable and she actually stays with us off leash outside of our yard/fence. The key to success is continuity at home. You must do your homework! Looking forward to the group lessons that are also included with the program.
